City Council Approves Revisions to Solid Waste Management Ordinance
The Maplewood Solid Waste Management Ordinance (Chapter 30) was adopted in 1997 and was drafted to meet the state and county solid waste management policies at that time.  In order to better manage solid waste, meet new state and county policies, and create regulations for the city’s new organized residential trash collection service, the City Council approved amendments to the solid waste management ordinance on June 11, 2012.  The amendments promote the theme that waste is everyone’s responsibility and will encourage re-use of resources by the separation and recovery of materials and energy from waste.
