Maplewood Tree Program
We are dedicated to preserving and protecting trees. Trees are important to Maplewood! Urban trees increase property value, save energy, improve air quality, provide habitat for wildlife, and improve our quality of life in many other ways.

The City of Maplewood values its mature shade trees and has developed programs and a tree ordinance to plant more trees in the City, encourage healthy growth, educate the public about trees, identify heritage trees, and protect them.

Maplewood Tree Program Purchase Rebate
Tree Purchase Rebate Form pdf
In 2010, the City of Maplewood is offering a purchase rebate to residential and commercial property owners for planting some species of shade trees on landscaped property in Maplewood.  The Tree Purchase Rebate will encourage planting deciduous shade trees on private property.  It will also help property owners replace trees lost to Dutch Elm Disease or Oak Wilt.

The purchase price of a shade tree will be reimbursed by the City at a cost-share of 50% up to $100 per tree.  For each household, up to 4 trees may be purchased, at a total maximum reimbursement of $200.  First the tree is bought and installed, then the purchase receipt and the Tree Purchase Rebate Form are submitted to the City for Reimbursement. Forms are processed after each deadline: July 15, 2010 and if budgets last, October 15, 2010.  Rebates applied for will not be received by the homeowner until early August, and again in early November.
