The Energy Bike Exhibit
This is a fun learning tool.

You get on it to ride and generate enough energy to light fluorescent or incandescent light bulbs or a television. It’s in the hallway at the Nature Center and you can come try it yourself.

This exhibit is best for ages five and up.

The Nature Play Area is Open!

Come and Enjoy!
Open during daylight hours, seven days a week.

Two Stillwater High School juniors have implemented a Nature Play Activity project in the nature center’s yard for their Gold Girl Scout Award. Laura Chandler and Sarah Mittelstadt created several nature play stations for families with young children.

Their additions include a music circle, sand pit, balancing logs, child size picnic table and chalk box to engage young children and their families to explore the outdoors with their senses, imagination and curiosity.

The girls have worked very hard with family and friends in collaboration with naturalist staff and the Friends of Maplewood Nature to enhance MNC yard’s existing natural and landscaped space.

You can read all about it at this link to the Pioneer Press:
